The Upcoming Female Driven Indie Horror Anthology - 'Body Count'

body count

I met Jenn Nangle many years ago when I discovered her alter ego, Horror Hostess, Malvolia: The Queen Of Screams on social media and YouTube. Since then, we have collaborated a few times on each others work, and a few of my own horror shorts have showcased on Malvolia's YouTube show @QueenMalvolia.

Jenn, who lives in LA, is one hard working Lady! Malvolia's presence is all over socials, she's worked on many seasons of her YouTube show as well as Horror Specials over the Holidays like Christmas, Halloween and even Easter. She's always working on or with copious amounts of projects like Horror Shorts and Horror Features, and even popping up in unexpected places as well as many Horror Conventions. Honestly, this Woman is a Goddess in her working ethic to get her name out into the Hollywood Hills and The World Of Horror.

Malvolia's Thanksgiving

Like many hardworking Indie Filmmakers, the dream is to release a feature film, and Jenn has gone one better; creating a female driven horror anthology where she has writing, directing, acting, editing and producing credits!

''BODY COUNT is a female driven horror anthology where I play all the Villains in each segment. Not only is it a way to showcase my talent by playing multi characters and wear multiple production “hats”, but it’s a way to reach a broader audience. A webseries on YouTube only gets so far since Social Media LOVES to shadow ban horror related content. I wanted to show horror fans that I do exist and that I can create killer stories.''– Jennifer Nangle.

A killer is on the loose! Or should we say, KILLERS! And there is no stopping this mayhem any time soon! After 342 days of strategising, crowdfunding, planning, and sharpening many killing instruments… Malvolia: the Queen of Screams is at it again, finishing up principal photography for FIVE brand new female killer-driven segments that are surrounded by a KILL FEST wrap-around story in the new horror anthology BODY COUNT.

Nangle, who also wrote, produced, and edited other segments throughout the film, plays every killer in each segment. She was joined by Hunter Johnson, Richard Trejo (original producers/directors since Season One of the series “Malvolia: the Queen of Screams”), and Alex T. Hwang in directing the segments. Charles Chudabala (who also served as Producer and 1st AD), Eric Lawson, Ron Purtee, and Christine Twyman were the other writers on the anthology.

This feature was Executive Produced by Jennifer Nangle, David Biber, Paul Stephen Edwards, Andrew Kappas, Tommy Lentsch, and Michael Jon Murphy.

Approaching the Cast of Characters totalling forty (YES, 40), you may see some Indie Horror faces that you may recognise; however, Nangle did want to make sure new blood… er talent was being shown in the Horror genre. Some actors even tripled their luck being cast as Nangle started to look at BODY COUNT as her very own “American Horror Story.”

Queen Malvolia
BODY COUNT is a Horror Anthology hosted by Award Winning YouTube Horror Hostess Malvolia: the Queen of Screams that took 342 days to complete on a 4k budget. Lots of hard work, (human) sacrifice, fake blood, gallons of sweat, and (actor's) tears (okay, some real ones too!) went into completing this film with FIVE brand new female villain driven stories with multiple locations, practical make-up effects, and over 30 actors and crew. They will be seeking distribution for this film and they're in the home stretch!

There is currently an IndieGoGo Crowdfunding Campaign to help with the post production of the film; paying a composer and colorist to make sure the film looks and sounds KILLER! All those lovely finishing touches cost, and Malvolia and Team are asking for YOUR help - check out the campaign at www.igg.me/at/bodycountff
