This autumn, The Muppets will be heading to Disney's iconic The Haunted Mansion for a Halloween Special to air on Disney+. And thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have the first look images from the upcoming holiday special.
Muppets Haunted Mansion, their first ever Halloween- Special, will feature the Muppets cast and celebrity cameos as well as new music and spooky amusement for families to enjoy later this fall. Muppets Haunted Mansion will take place on Halloween night, when Gonzo is challenged to spend one night in The Haunted Mansion.
When Gonzo is challenged to spend one very daring night in the most grim grinning place on Earth …The Haunted Mansion. Will he waltz with ghosts? Ride a Doom Buggy? Encounter the eerie Ghost Host? All will be revealed this fall.
Although this may be The Muppets first stay at the iconic Disney attraction, 2021 marks the 52nd Anniversary for the original Disneyland ride that opened August 9th 1969. It has since gone on to become somewhat of a favourite for fans over the years spawning other versions in Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney and Hong Kong Disneyland as well as a moderately successful 2003 film starring Eddie Murphy. The Muppets may be visiting this autumn but Disney has re-visited the attraction and given fans a behind the scenes look in two recent Disney+ docuseries (The Imagineering Story & Behind the Attraction). In addition to those documentary series, they are moving forward with a brand new film adaptation from director Justin Simien.
