Mark Duplass offers update in Creep 3

Filmmaker and actor Mark Duplass caught up with IndieWire recently via Instagram live to offer us an update on a third Creep film.

The franchise all started in 2014 with the found footage style horror, directed by Patrick Brice, that saw Aaron answer an online ad for a videographer for a rather odd individual. A third film has been in the works for a few years now since the sequel, but it appears Duplass and Brice are struggling to write the third.

“We’ve written it twice, and neither of those stories are good enough, and the reason is we almost didn’t make a ‘Creep 2'. If we’re going to make a third one, it’d better be super inspired. We are trying and we are putting effort into it, but we are not good enough yet to make it worthwhile, so we are struggling. That’s really it,”

Duplass also added that despite it's success, he wasn't overly fond of the 2017 sequel.

"We decided to make ‘Creep 2.’ We had to almost kill ourselves to make that movie as good as it was. I appreciate how many people liked it but I do feel like it wasn’t as good as it could have been, if I’m being perfectly honest.”

Fingers crossed they can come up with a good enough idea for a third film.
