It may have taken us Jaws fans 47 years for LEGO to green light a Jaws Set, but I can imagine this will be worth the wait! You're gonna need a bigger shelf folks...
YOU'RE GONNA NEED (TO BUILD) A BIGGER BOAT !
Officially announced by LEGO May 31st in their "LEGO Ideas Third 2022 Review Results" video (that can be seen below) along with a cat design. The set has been approved by LEGO through the 'LEGO IDEAS' website where fans can submit their own ideas and designs for LEGO sets.
The upcoming Jaws Set was designed and built by fellow Jaws fanatic Jonny Campbell (Diving Faces) and features the iconic boat the Orca, mini-figures of Chief Brody, Quint & Matt Hooper as well as the star of the film himself- Bruce.
Based on the 1975 movie directed by Steven Spielberg and the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley, this is my JAWS idea.
The set includes Martin Brody, Matt Hooper and Quint mini-figures and wouldn't be complete without the main star (Bruce) the Shark. The set features an accurately detailed ORCA (the boat) which includes a detailed interior, lots of "sharking/fishing equipment" as well as those famous yellow barrels - "Not with 3 he can't!".
I built this model because JAWS is my favourite movie. I have a great passion for both LEGO and this movie and I wanted to create my own JAWS set. We reached 10k before, and hopefully we can do it again. We need a JAWS set! I've spent a long time perfecting my build to ensure I capture every single detail at mini-figure scale. I've even re-watched JAWS several times over to ensure I could capture every detail as accurately as possible.
I think this would make a great LEGO set, as JAWS is such an iconic movie with so many fans worldwide. As a big LEGO fan, this is the LEGO set that I would want to buy, and I think the same could be said for the many other fans of LEGO (and JAWS) out there.
The attention to detail on this model is impressive! Of course these pictures are of Campbell's original design so the final product may alter slightly, but LEGO are pretty great when it comes to keeping all those little details. So I'm hopeful the changes to this set will be minimal. As of yet, there is no official release date for the set- or whether or not it will be just one set (I can only hope right). We'll be sure to keep you up to date when LEGO release info regarding this set. Be quick though as I have no doubt this one's going to sell out quick!
