For the first time in 60 years, pioneers of the horror genre Hammer Films are unleashing a brand new monster.

Ithaqua

The upcoming film, titled Ithaqua, is written by Casey Walker, Pascal Trottier and Peter Vicaire with Walker also on directorial duties. Currently in production, the film boasts an impressive cast that includes Luke Hemsworth, Kevin Durand, Michael Pitt, Craig Lauzon & Leenah Robinson.

As well as the above poster we've also got a synopsis. The film is reportedly set in the brutal wilderness of 1800s Canada, in Ithaqua-

Cole Franklin, an American mercenary, is recruited as a hired gun and guide at the remote outpost of Fort William, which is struggling to survive the decline of the fur trade. With dwindling supplies, the keepers of the Fort blackmail Cole into leading a trading party to a nearby Indigenous village where they discover a massacre and encounter the remaining half-crazed inhabitants for the bloodshed.

Though the trading party survives with minimal losses and returns to the Fort with a bonanza of food and furs, the supernatural force responsible for the carnage follows them back. As the casualties stack up, it becomes evident that something unnatural is driving the residents insane with an insatiable hunger for flesh.. The rag-tag band of survivors force Cole to put his military expertise to use in organising their last stand against what can only be described as some kind of madness.

Hammer Horror's legacy continues! Hammer Films now sits as part of John Gore Studios, which also includes Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment, Icon Film Distribution and the recently acquired Silver Salt Restoration.

“Bringing our family of companies and labels together under John Gore Studios is a huge moment for me. I’ve always believed in the power of British film and TV, and now we’re poised to share our stories with the world in an even bigger way. This really is just the beginning—there’s so much more ahead.” - John Gore

Hopefully, this marks the beginning to a return to form for Hammer Films and this is the first of many films to come. You can learn more via John Gore Studios or Hammer Films.
