Gary Dauberman to Direct New Adaptation of Salem's Lot

Last April we dropped the news that James Wan was producing a brand new adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's Lot with Gary Dauberman (IT, Annabelle Comes Home, The Nun) penning the script. The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Dauberman will also be directing the film.

Dauberman, who made his directorial last year with the fantastic Annabelle Comes Home has closed a deal to direct the new adaptation.

Fastly becoming a key player in the horror field Dauberman has been doing incredibly well recently. Writing credits include both new IT adaptations and The Conjuring's spin off films- The Nun, Annabelle, Annabelle Creation and Annabelle Comes Home- and of course directing the last entry in the Annabelle film series.

Whilst Salem's Lot has never been adapted for the big screen, the 1979 mini series directed by horror legend Tobe Hooper and starring David Soul was relatively successful. Over the years it has become somewhat of a fan favourite amongst Stephen King and horror fans going on to gain a cult following.

With Wan producing and Dauberman writing and directing I think we could be in for a real treat here.
