Coming Soon: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Video Game

The creators of Friday the 13th: The Game (Gun Interactive) have set their sites on bringing another horror icon to life in their very own video game. Gun Interactive have teamed up with Sumo Nottingham to bring horror fans worldwide a brand new 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' asymmetrical multiplayer video game.

The game will be based on Tobe Hooper’s 1974 iconic horror film that saw Gunnar Hansen bring Leatherface to life to terrify audiences. As well as being able play as the original Leatherface himself, players will also have the choice of playing as The Hitchhiker, The Cook and several brand new characters. The game will be heading to both PC and current-gen consoles at a later to be confirmed date.

Ronnie Hobbs, creative director at Gun Interactive described being able to work on such a game as surreal.

"It’s no secret that the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is probably my favorite horror film ever created. Having the chance to really dive into the world of this IP with the team from Gun and working with Sumo to bring this vision to life has been almost surreal. I can’t wait for everyone to see more of what we’re doing."
"We’re incredibly excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on here at Sumo Nottingham. To be the first to truly bring the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to life was an opportunity that could not be passed. The cult classic has been terrifying and spellbinding people for over 40 years and we’re thrilled with how the game is developing, we cannot wait for fans old and new to become part of this truly authentic experience." - Darren Campion, Executive Producer at Sumo Nottingham.
