Cinema chains including Cineworld, Odeon, Vue and Picturehouse have shut their cinemas across the UK after Boris Johnson addressed the corona virus pandemic yesterday.
Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson adressed the nation yesterday as the Government set out new protocol and guidelines for CoVid-19 urging people to stay home and avoid "non-essential contact" with anyone, including social gatherings.
Following that news, cinemas across the UK have chosen to close for health and safety reasons. Odeon were the first chain to close and made the following announcement via their social media pages.
"Following government guidelines ODEON cinemas are closed until further notice. If you have pre-booked tickets online, these will be refunded automatically. For any specific questions, please contact our Guest Services Centre. We look forward to welcoming you back soon."
Cineworld, Vue and Picturehouse all followed suit shortly after Odeon made the announcement. They also announced closure until further notice and urged staff not to come into work.
We'll keep you updated as best we can.
