As this year continues being the worst, Universal have now decided to delay the release of Nia DaCosta's Candyman. The film was originally meant to be released this June. It was then delayed until September, and finally delayed until October 2020.
The film has been completely pulled from October 2020 release and placed on hold indefinitely. It looks like Universal still plan to release Candyman in cinemas "sometime in 2021". We will be sure to update you when Universal announce a new release date for 2021.
“For as long as residents can remember, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighbourhood were terrorised by a word-of-mouth ghost story about a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror.
